Quartz banger questions
How do I season a new quartz banger?
Heat to red with a torch, let it cool to room temp completely (5+ minutes), then dab. Repeat 2–3 times. This prevents the new quartz from absorbing terps unevenly on first use.
What temperature should I dab at?
Low-temp dabs (450–550°F) preserve flavor; high-temp dabs (650°F+) give bigger clouds but burn off terps. Most flavor chasers heat to red, then wait 30–45 seconds before dabbing.
How do I clean it?
Q-tip while still warm — much easier than cleaning cold quartz. For deep buildup, soak in 91%+ isopropyl alcohol overnight. Don't over-torch trying to burn off chazz; that just makes it worse.
Why does my banger have white spots after a few uses?
That's chazz — quartz degradation from over-heating. Once it starts, it doesn't come off. Lower your heat, Q-tip after every dab, and replace the banger when it gets bad enough to affect flavor.
